A short film on a big theme is the free HFFC event offered to the public on Dec 5th via Zoom. Winner of a Hollywood International Documentary Festival “Best First Film” award, “Leaving God” takes an impartial, investigative look at the rapidly changing religious landscape in America — away from church, traditional religion, and God. In doing so, with a well-crafted mix of angst and humor, it parallels the filmmaker’s own detachment from long-held beliefs.
