Why Teach Evolution?

FYI, the 2/14/2020 AHA email includes this article "Why Teach Evolution?"

I was startled to read "The resistance to teaching evolution is deep." I thought it was mostly ancient history by a fringe element but this article shows current resistance by some scientists and a large part of the public.
